My Teaching Philosophy

Enthusiasm, patience, motivation and inspiration are qualities that I provide to my students. I have always found enjoyment from the small wonders that children encounter on a daily basis. I am amazed at the way young children learn and process information within their environment. I chose to specialize in Early Childhood Education to further understand how the young mind develops and what methods are best to help students reach their full potential. Through my studies and education, I chose to provide child centered learning approaches in my classroom. Children become fully involved in their learning activities, actively explore their environments, become intrinsically motivated to learn, feel proud when they accomplish tasks, and enjoy playing and learning with others. Individualizing my teaching style to my students needs allows each child the capability to grow and learn in order to maximize their fullest potential.   I greatly enjoy international teaching and find inspiration with the opportunity to work with children of different cultures and nationalities. This experience continues to help me progress in my career and fully understand individuality in children.

As a teacher, I strive to integrate my enthusiastic, creative teaching style and facilitate the academic, emotional, social, and developmental growth of each child. I am a flexible teacher and enjoy creating a classroom in which children can respond to a range of skills and interests. My classroom reflects and supports children’s culture and home languages and offers challenges that are not too difficult or discouraging. I implore my students to learn by creative and independent thinking and problem solving skills. I hold high expectations for my students, both academically and behaviorally, and find that providing a loving, safe environment helps promote both.

I also understand the importance of maintaining positive relationships with parents.  Parents' are the child's first teacher and are welcomed into my classroom both as a helper and as an observer.
